Planned for decades, we're almost ready to close the Avila to SLO gap of the Bob Jones Trail so we can connect our community and offer a sustainable, equitable transportation and recreation option for everyone on our beautiful Central Coast.
We've already secured +80% of the funding but we need your help for this final push to raise the remaining $5.5M. Without your support, this project could be cancelled and state grants for all future bike trail projects in our county are at risk.
We don't actually need to raise the $5.5M for a few years, but the California Transportation Commission meets in January and could pull the grant if it doesn't have confidence in our ability to eventually fund the project. So our initial goal is to secure $1M of actual donations and/or future donation commitments by January 30th so we can show some serious momentum. You can donate now and/or tell us how much you can commit to donate in each of the future project years. Either way, every pledge brings us one step closer to connecting our region in a healthier, greener way.
The trail connection will be brand new, safe, 4 mile multiuse bike path that will start at the Octagon Barn on the south end of SLO and end at the existing Avila trailhead on Ontario Drive.
Immediate donations are always welcome! For donations over $1000 please get in touch at thebobjonestrail@gmail.com. To donate by check click here. For all other donations click the button below to donate via credit card, PayPal, or Venmo.
Most of the funds will be required later in the project but we need to get pre-commitments now to keep state funding in place. Click below to tell us what you can commit to donate in 2025, 2026, and/or 2027.
