Distance from Ontario Rd. trailhead to Avila Beach is 2.5 miles one way.  The free Avila Beach Trolley also stops here.

The shaded path follows San Luis Obispo Creek riparian corridor and the former route of the historic narrow gauge railroad, with benches, interpretive signs, hotels, and a coffee shop / deli along the way.
